Resident electors: 18 or older on voting day, a Canadian citizen, a BC resident for at least six months, and living in the Salt Spring electoral area for at least 30 days. Non-resident property owners can also qualify to vote here; one owner votes per property.
You can register when you arrive at the voting place. Bring two pieces of ID that together prove who you are and where you live; at least one must have your signature. Non-resident property electors also need proof of ownership.
Salt Spring's Local Trust Committee has two elected trustees, so you may vote for up to two candidates. Voting for fewer than two still counts; voting for more spoils the ballot.
The CRD runs this election on behalf of the Islands Trust, and its official notices are the final word on dates, places, and eligibility. Check the CRD local elections page, Elections BC, and the Islands Trust elections page for the latest.
